Close to 25,000 Left Without Power in Queensland and Victoria Following Intense Storms
Approximately twenty-five thousand households in Queensland's southeast woke up without power on Monday's dawn after powerful weather events passed over the region, generating wind gusts hitting 109km/h.
Massive Hailstones and Broad Destruction
Residents observed large ice chunks reaching sizes of 7cm in some areas. Weather authorities announced that various areas across Queensland had been hit with significant hail.

Response teams were working to restore power throughout the impacted areas, with approximately seventy teams working to handle the extensive power failures.
Victoria's Storm Challenges
Simultaneously, approximately 1,000 residents in the southern state also experienced power outages after Melbourne saw its wettest day in a year and a half.
Rescue organizations handled nearly 600 emergency reports across the region, mainly for property damage but also for fallen timber and water accumulation.

At the height on yesterday, more than 28,000 electricity consumers in the state were experiencing outages.
Weather Forecast
Damp conditions were forecast to persist along much of Queensland's east this week as a atmospheric system continued to draw in moisture against the shoreline.
Tuesday was expected to become the wettest day, with continued thunderstorm potential expected across different parts of both regions.
Health Warning
Health officials warned that there was an increased chance of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the northern rural areas, particularly given the ongoing climate situation.
This warning comes after past events where analogous circumstances led to major medical consequences in the region.
