Liverpool's Star Issues Statement to Squad, Discloses Curtis Jones
The Liverpool midfielder has shared that Salah said sorry to the entire Liverpool squad following the controversy from his recent interview.
The Incident
He was omitted from a vital match after making accusations and claiming his connection to the head coach had soured.
“Mo is his own man and he can say his own stuff,” Jones told Sky Sports. “His apology was clear and was like: ‘If my words hurt anyone, I'm sorry.’”
The head coach has refused to comment publicly on whether he was apologised to from the veteran striker.
Looking Ahead
He emphasized that the squad's reaction stayed normal. “He was his usual self, he had a big smile on his face and everybody was exactly the same with him,” Jones added.
The midfielder also noted that a player's desire to start is preferable. “I get that there are certain ways you can express yourself,” he said. “Yet, should someone be happy to just sit out, then I think that’s concerning.”
On-Field Response
The team's performance have stayed unbeaten in the games following the initial controversy. The player is convinced the Salah's words were not intended to harm the team.
“If passion has boiled over, the source has been from a good place,” the midfielder stated. “That chapter is closed and we’re gelling well as a team, playing well and securing victories.”
