Soccer Analyst Chris Sutton Takes On Artist Murs in Top Flight Predictions

The Gunners' 10-game winning streak was ended by Sunderland prior to the international break, but can the Premier League leaders recover against local foes Tottenham this Sunday?

"{I feel like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," stated football expert Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will try to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling finest this season - but Mikel Arteta's team usually still find a way to win."

The analyst is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League fixtures this term, against AI, readers and a variety of special visitors.

For the twelfth round, he faces performer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United fan.

Murs' new album, Knees Up, is available on the weekend.

Football and Family Experiences

Olly is a skilled footballer as well as a accomplished singer and has been a featured player of multiple charity football games down the years - but he is not planning a professional return as a footballer.

"{I actually played in a charity game the other night for a mate of mine," he said. "My team was losing 3-1 when I came off in the second half, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you want!

"I continue to love football, but I hurt my joint a few years ago and it even now isn't where I want it to be. I wish I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too dangerous for me in my career to do it seriously again.

"Additionally I am forty-one now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my daughter or son chooses to play instead."

The singer and his spouse Amelia Tank have two children, their daughter and Albert, and he is ready to follow in his father's footsteps by becoming their coach.

"I will not force football on our children but I've previously told my wife that if they happen to get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will probably be coaching their weekend soccer team," he said.

"I watched my nephews play a lot, and I really got into it, and I clearly was involved with a football club for a period too.

"My dad coached with us when I was a kid, which is likely where I get it from. He managed our team for several years and had great fun with it. That might be the future for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues might have to be patient for their star's return from fitness issues but their offense is now stronger with Pedro and Liam Delap both back fit.

In my opinion this game will be quite tight, though. Burnley are well organised and their sole home defeats so far have been against Liverpool and Arsenal.

It suggests a one-all tie to me, but I am actually going to go with the London side to win narrowly for what would be their third Premier League win in a row.

Sutton's forecast: 1-2

The singer's prediction: Chelsea will be superior. 1-3

AI's outlook: 0-2

Bournemouth have been defeated in their past two games - albeit both of them were away - but they got absolutely spanked by Villa last time out which surprised me.

On the other hand, West Ham won two in a row before the international break and, although both of those games were at home, they appear competitive again.

West Ham's sole on the road win this season came at Nottingham Forest in the summer, when their boss Nuno was previously that team's manager.

Therefore, what on earth do I go with here - can West Ham continuing their run under Nuno, or Bournemouth responding?

I am going to go with the Cherries, because I believe what happened against Aston Villa was a anomaly.

Sutton's forecast: 2-0

The guest's prediction: Bournemouth are performing strongly but the visitors have improved under their boss. 2-2

The algorithm's prediction: 1-1

The Bees were seen as one of the frontrunners for the drop before the campaign began, but they have impressed a few observers under their manager and are in good form with three in their past four matches.

A family member told me to select Brentford striker Thiago in my Fantasy Football team a few weeks ago and, guess what, I didn't listen.

Thiago will probably find the net again on the weekend but I am nonetheless not going to pick him or support Brentford at Brighton's ground.

They have not had much success on the road this season, and the Seagulls are always strong at home. Brentford will attempt to attack on the counter-attack but I feel Fabian Hurzeler's side pose much more of a danger.

Sutton's prediction: 2-1

The singer's view: This could be one of those games where you expect there is going to be a lot of scores but it actually proves to be quite tight. 1-1

AI's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a huge fixture for Fulham, who have lost five of their last six games.

Fulham have got plenty of quality in their squad but it still seems like they could be sucked into a relegation fight.

Regarding Sunderland, well they are the surprise package of the Premier League campaign so far.

The away side's performance in the two-all tie with Arsenal last time out was excellent. We have not seen any other team rough up the North London side like that this term, and Sunderland were fully competitive for them.

The sensible thing to do to back the visitors here, because they are clearly able of disrupting the hosts up too and, the previous occasion they were in west London, they beat the Blues at the end of last month.

But I am not choose that. Rather, I truly need to continue going against Sunderland with my predictions. I am taking a lot of responsibility for their positive outcomes because they evidently love to prove me wrong.

Considering the home side's home form, the sole team they have been defeated by is the league leaders. Their manager's team will be absolutely desperate for a good result, so I am going to say they will pick up three points.

Sutton's prediction: 1-0

Olly's prediction: I'm aware Sunderland are performing strongly and additionally that Fulham are on a poor streak... but Fulham have still been decent at home this campaign. 2-0

The algorithm's prediction: 2-0

It is a hard one to call. Liverpool have suffered seven of their past 10 games in all competitions, but might they be one of the teams who benefit from the {international break|
